07 Oct Printing the photography of Paolo Pellegrin, for The Magnum Photos agency
The printer transforms the ideas and images from imperceptible and incomprehensible for many viewers because they still belong to the thoughts of few, and turns them into extraordinary items that collect, translate and above all makes them available to the public: books.
Before arriving at the MAXXI, NATIONAL MUSEUM OF XXI CENTURY ARTS, the works of the anthology of Paolo Pellegrin, a photographer of international fame, passed through our inkwells to create the volume that describes the exhibition.
The art of printing is a full part of the project with the technique of black and white, four-colour and trichromy printing in more than 700 pages of the volume by Germano Celant, published for the edition by Silvana Editoriale, in a limited edition of numbered copies.
On show in Rome from 7 November 2018
PAOLO PELLEGRIN. AN ANTHOLOGY
Following two years of intensive work on the archives of Paolo Pellegrin, the exhibition represents the issues that underlie the photographer’s career, that over the decades has entwined the vision of the reporter with the visual intensity of the artist.
Pellegrin’s work is analysed in two large sections: the first is dedicated to the human being, the second is focused on his vision of nature, showing intense and suffering scenes.
