“Velvet mi amor” by Stefano and Corinna Chiassai. Publisher Dario Cimorelli, printed by Tecnostampa, Pigini Group.

Velvet mi amor, is the story of an ideal collection, the creative laboratory of the international designer Stefano Chiassai. With his project, Chiassai searches for a new potential of the regal fabric par excellence, velvet, transporting it to the territories of tailoring. With the collaboration of over thirty Italian companies, a cross-section of the most vital and creative Made in Italy, Stefano and Corinna Chiassai tell us their personal interpretation of velvet.

tefano Chiassai began his training at a very young age in the family business, creating his brand in 1980 – a total look line distributed throughout the world.
In 1985 he founded, together with his wife AlessandraSCS Studio Chiassai, a style office. In 1987 he paraded with his own brand which saw him as a protagonist at Pitti Trend, Pitti Uomo and the Milan fashion weeks.
Since 1994, after the closure of the brand, the studio’s work has focused on stylistic consultancy and trend research for numerous brands.
Stefano and Corinna Chiassai‘s research is rooted in the luxury sector with projects with a strong urban imprinting.
Since the beginning of the 2000s he has worked designing menswear lines for international brands, seeking with his aesthetics to reconcile the world of traditional craftsmanship and that of new technologies.

“Velvet mi amor”
Elegance, comfort, refinement, sensuality. The “sense of velvet” is all told in this work which makes you fall in love not only with velvet but with the book itself and how it is described. Velvet is not a cyclical fashion trend, but art within art, luxury of desire, pride to wear.
To print and entrust these precious artefacts to paper, arouse their sensations, appreciate their extraordinary colours and the intertwining of the filaments with the textures that make up the velvet and influence its shine, Tecnostampa has adopted a specifically designed profiling method. The result is a high print contrast that respects the maximum depth of the photograph, restoring to the eye the softness of the fabrics, the intensity of the colours, and their play of light and shadow, almost to the point of allowing a physical experience.
